Earlier this year Reset completed an exciting integration project to partner with Traka, part of the ASSA ABLOY group, known for their advanced electronic key and asset management systems. Traka is in use on many sites across the UK and Europe, helping manage and secure keys by means of access-controlled cabinets.
Reset and Traka already work side by side to provide two different services for contractors, contractor management and site access control by Reset and key security management by Traka. Up to now, whilst used by the same contractors, the two systems have been completely autonomous.
Using Traka standalone, contractors are often granted permission to access a number or block of keys, usually covering any areas they may need access to at any given time. The integration from Reset provides a far stricter control of key access by granting permission for a singular key via the Reset Access system as the contractor signs into site.
Additionally, Reset now handles the contractor enrolment for the Traka system automatically. When a Reset Cardholder, logging in with Reset, first requires key access, their details are securely passed from Reset to Traka, eliminating the need for manual data entry and streamlining the process.
Bradford NHS Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust have adopted the Reset-Traka integration to a brand-new Traka installation of 4 key cabinets across their estate. This will sit alongside Reset Access, Reset Site Induction and Reset Permit to Work to create a complete Reset eco-system to manage and monitor their contractor.
We are now in conversation with Facilities and Estates Managers on a number of existing sites that are already using both the Reset and Traka provisions, to implement the integration and manage key control for their contractors at a stricter and more granular level.
Ben Farrar, Strategic Client Relationship Manager of Traka, says:
“Traka has long been at the forefront of providing intelligent key management solutions to facilities and estates teams. Every day, Traka systems securely manage thousands of transactions involving the distribution of sensitive keys to temporary staff and contractors.
This exciting new integration, with our partners Reset, offers our shared clients a genuine opportunity to streamline operations — automatically verifying contractors’ compliance and readiness to work on site while seamlessly allocating keys and assets.
Traka is extremely excited about this partnership and the enhanced efficiency, security, and transparency it will bring to the market.”
Gary Duce, Managing Director of Reset, says:
“We are thrilled about the opportunities this integration brings. Whether it is existing mutual clients looking to unify their systems, Reset client sites seeking key management solutions by adding Traka or the existing Traka sites who need a tighter control of key management, alongside a complete contractor management solution, by adding Reset - we have the answer for all.”
