No more missed inductions or refreshers
We know that all sites, as a critical element of their Health and Safety Management System, operate some form of site induction. They provide essential health and safety information and ensure that everyone attending site know the rules, risks, hazards, and control measures in operation on their site.
Facilities maintenance and construction works can involve a variety of trades and site arrangements can change quickly as projects progress, so it is vital that inductions are reviewed and refreshers are carried out at regular intervals. However, this makes delivering, managing and keeping an audit trail a laborious and time-consuming task - so how do you track that everyone attending site has had either an induction or refresher and is up to date with critical site safety information?
Reset Site Induction manages, monitors and delivers site inductions for you, taking away the administration and tracking. The system can monitor and deliver site inductions, recording them on the individual cardholder’s profile and where an induction or refresher has not been completed, implement a ‘stop at the gate’ when the individual logs on to site using Reset Access Terminals or Reset Access Mobile badge.
Besides the benefits presented for our clients, the site induction has been received positively by Reset Member Companies who are experiencing the time saved first-hand when, rather than their individuals having to be inducted on arrival at site, they can get straight on with the work having completed the necessary site induction ahead of time.
Developed to work on any site, Reset Site Induction ensures that contractors are kept up to date and compliant with the clients site requirements. Their own site inductions can be uploaded directly to the portal, and can be carried out in advance via the individual cardholder app before arriving on site, to avoid completing the induction on the day.
Once the induction has been completed, the individual’s profile is automatically updated, allowing instant, safe access to site without intervention, when logging in using Reset Access.
When a cardholder arrives on site without a valid induction or requiring a refresher, the Reset Access touchscreen terminal or mobile badge can perform a ‘stop at the gate’. The cardholder will be presented with a unique QR code to view the hosted induction content using a mobile device or smartphone. The QR code will link the cardholder to the hosted content on their own device. Once the cardholder has completed the induction, their profile is immediately updated, and they can return to the Reset Access terminal to log in as normal.
Managing Refreshers
Refreshers are monitored and can be requested in two ways, enabling you to manage your inductions over time or when someone has not attended site for an extended period.
Set Refresher Date
A period is set, say 12 months, for the refresher and when that date is reached the cardholder is notified that they will be required to undertake a refresher to be able to continue to log in.
Day Count
A unique feature of Reset Induction is that the ‘day count’ will also monitor when a cardholder last logged into site. For example, if the day count is set for 90 days, approximately three months, Reset Site Induction will check when the cardholder last logged into site, if this is over the date count set, then the cardholder will be required to take a refresher. This ensures that contractors attending site are kept familiar with the site requirements, even when their visits are infrequent.
Both the refresher and day count criteria can be managed by you to offer complete control across all your sites and premises.
What if there is a major change in the induction?
If site rules or regulations change dramatically enough to create a revised induction, then a request can be delivered to all to ensure that everyone has taken the most up to date induction available. This might be due to a legislation or site specific change.
Reset will simplify the way you manage and monitor site inductions, so if you are tasked with the responsibility for delivering them, get in touch to see how you can make the whole process quick, efficient, cost effective and hassle-free.
